Bereavement Pain - How To Heal The Pain Of Bereavement

Bereavement pain is the strongest and most painful of all human emotions. And like all human emotions, bereavement pain makes no sense at all - unless you bring the energy system, the true Factor X of the human condition, into the equation.

Bereavement pain isn't in the head - it is an ACTUAL FELT PAIN that comes in waves and can be totally debilitating.  Psychology doesn't help by labelling the various forms this pain takes from day to day as "anger" or "guilt" or even "survivor guilt", and there is also that very unhelpful and even downright cruel underlying suggestion, always lurking in the background, that the person who suffers from bereavement pain doesn't "want" to get better, "wants" to suffer or is trying to "hold on" to their suffering - making it all their fault on top of everything else.

If you can consider, even for a moment, that people really do have an energy body, and that this energy body sends messages, signals of pain (and of pleasure) to let people know how it's doing, then bereavement pain makes perfect sense.

People make ENERGETIC CONNECTIONS by nature - this is how we "connect", this is how we interact, and this is how we learn.

The strongest energetic connection is that between a mother and her child, because their systems were ONE at one point, and only gradually do these connections grow apart; but some of them never do and they will remain over time AND space, no matter what.

The second strongest form of connection is that between twins, life partners or other people who have lived together for a very long time.

Spending a lot of time in each other's company strengthens and deepens these energetic connections; and in very close relationships and families, the energy systems merge into one - they GROW TOGETHER.

So you can imagine that if you tear someone out of this exquisite, fragile web of energetic connections, it is going to cause tremendous pain.

And this is the bereavement pain we can feel in our bodies, and which can cause physical illness, if these injuries in the energy system, where the other was "torn away", aren't healed, and healed quickly.

For a person in bereavement, it really is as though parts of their skin and flesh have been torn away, and their life force is bleeding out of these injuries.

Standard psychology doesn't really have any answers for this problem of bereavement pain. If there is any alleviation of the pain, it is because UNCONSCIOUSLY the psychologist is a natural healer, and "somehow" the words that are spoken and the connections being made transmit energy forms that serve to mend some of these energetic injuries - but this is hit and miss, and relies on the natural healing talents of the psychologist in question, rather than any directly effective technique or method.

If we were to be sensible and ask a person directly, "Where is the worst pain? Where do you really feel it in your body? Show me with your hands!" the person who suffers from bereavement pain responds by, first of all, being relieved that someone finally is dealing with the real crux of the matter - the pain from the injuries they are carrying.

It can happen that people can be in therapy for YEARS and that question is never asked, the actual pain of bereavement never directly addressed.

Now, the person is holding their hands to their chest.

"This is where the pain is," they say, "It is so bad I can hardly breathe ..."

We can look at the place they are showing us with their hands, and now we know where the worst injury is located. Often, there are more ereas of injury; but just like with a multiple gunshot victim brought into the ER, it is the most dangerous wound, the most painful one, we treat first; and when that is done and the patient is stabilised, we treat the others, one by one, in order of severity.

The energy body is injured, we must heal the energy body, and as soon as possible, so that our patient doesn't develop serious ill health (you could think of this like an infection that will infest an untreated wound, and ultimately lead to the patient's demise!).

How do we heal the energy body?

The good news is that as EVERYONE HAS AN ENERGY BODY, we also all have "healing hands".

Even better, we also have an "energy head" (the unconscious or subconscious mind) which can help us, guide us, and which knows what to do.

All "we" have to do - our conscious selves - is to hold the intention of healing that wound that is causing the bereavement pain.

We say to the person, "I am going to place my attention on that place from the outside, and you help from the inside, and let's find out if we can't make this any better."

We can hold our hands to that place, but we must remember that it isn't our physical hands that are doing the healing, it is the hands of energy that everyone has which are doing the work.

We can ask the person to breathe deeply and to let energy flow into that injured erea so it can start to rebuild itself, so it can start to heal.

The wonderful thing about this way of working is that NO ONE ever says, "I don't want to do that, I want to keep suffering ..."

There is no "psychology" involved - we are simply healing an injury, and nothing more.

And the results speak for themselves.

This isn't some form of instant miracle healing, but you can feel the difference from the very first session onwards.

More, self healing now becomes not only possible, but is the right thing to do.

We know exactly where it hurts the most. We can put our OWN healing hands there, stroking, soothing, asking for the energy flow to be restored, for healing to take place.

It is the most NATURAL thing in the world to be doing, and it is the right thing - and the proof is that it works.

To understand that bereavement pain is REAL, that you are not crazy, that this isn't all in your mind or you're making it up somehow, but that you really have an injury that needs healing is a HUGE relief for many people who suffer from bereavement pain already.

The real relief comes, however, once the healing starts.

Once the pain starts to soften, and the previous waves of bereavement pain start to ebb away.

The most telling aspect of it all however and at the end of the day is the fact that as we are really healing that which is really injured, there is NO shame, NO guilt, NO anger - only an ever gathering sense of love, and appreciation for those who were lost that grows in strength at the same time as the pain fades.
And that is our final proof that we did the right thing, and we really did find the answer to bereavement pain.

Be kind to yourself. Remember that you're not crazy, you're injured, and you need to heal.

Use your own healing hands. Focus on the will to heal, breathe deeply.

Accept assistance from others to heal this injury. Even little children have powerful healing hands, often much more so than adults.

Knowing When to Stop

I have been working with EmoTrance for about a year and a half.  I went through trainers training with Sandra Hillawi in November of 2008.  My history is that I have worked with alternative energy healing methods for over 25 years.  And, they have all served a purpose in the healing of myself and others.  EmoTrance has opened up new avenues of knowledge and healing for me that I never thought was possible before.  I am amazed by the simplicity of it and in awe of the empowerment of it.   As an energy healer, I was taught to “heal people”….  I love that EmoTrance is empowering in the way that we are simply “coaches” of sort and the people are empowered to heal themselves. 

We just finished the third workshop for EmoTrance here in the Dallas, Texas area since my certification as a trainer.   I have found that with each workshop I gain new experiences, and new knowledge.   This last workshop I was challenged with new questions, new circumstances of blocks and new tools.  It was amazing. 

The very first day of the four-day workshop, the self-healing day, I was walking amongst the participants as they took one another through an exercise and heard a wailing coming from the hallway.  When I located the source, she was in a heap on the bathroom floor and the “coach” was standing over her with a look of terror on her face and utter helplessness.  It took a little coaching to get her calmed down, the fear and anxiety flowed and her energy system clear enough to be able to voice her trauma.  When we returned to the class we discussed what had happened;  During the exercise the client hit on her childhood trauma of abuse from her parents and totally shut down because the pain was too much for her.  Through Emo she was able to soften and flow her fear of the memories but she was not ready or able emotionally to go any further than that, so I asked her if she wanted to go on or take a break.  She said that it was too much for her right now.  She was not even willing to “think” about her mother. Working on any shields was not an option at this point.  She shared that her brother was living with her and being the youngest of the family he had suffered the brunt of the abuse and she was really fearful of his emotional state and wanted to help him.  After the class, she and I worked to help him through proxy.  I love proxy!   Through working on his issues of fear, she was able to process some of her own in a safer, more acceptable way for her.   She wrote me the following testimonial the next day and I wanted to share it with all of you:

So much has happened since the class on Saturday - My father had a stroke Sunday morning.  I was a little panicked when I found out but I calmed myself by releasing my emotions with the techniques I had learned in your class.  Once I was calm I was able to deal with the situation objectively and ended up making a trip to see him on Monday.  As you will recall I had put my mother under an "energy glass" far away from me so that her negativity would not be able to escape and harm me.  I would not remove it nor let her close to me during the class.   In order for me to feel safe going I had to remove the glass and "feel" those energies to prepare myself for whatever happened.  I safely made the trip to the hospital and back ascertaining that he would make a full recovery, and that they had plenty of help to handle the situation.  I stayed several hours but somehow I completely missed my mother.  I actually saw her in the parking lot as I was leaving (she did not see me) and made the choice to walk away.  My hip and thigh has hurt several times over the past days but not as bad as it was.  Each time I feel a pain I practice the techniques I learned in class.  The moment of truth came yesterday when I went to massage therapy.  There are several places including my hip and thigh that are so tender she can barely touch them.  It still hurt but she had her elbow in most of these places and she could not do that before.   For me it was nothing short of a miracle especially in light of the family trauma. I also want to let you know that as I have released the emotion energy I have uncovered other layers hiding underneath and am working through these as they appear in my consciousness.  As for my brother - he is happier, more peaceful and focused on his future.   He has made strides in a couple of areas that he has been working toward for months.   Ann B

What was so important for me as a trainer and a practitioner in this experience is that I learned firsthand how you can push someone too far  and cause more damage – and when to know that enough is enough…..  There are times when you need to take it slow for the comfort of the client or student.  Just to make sure that I got that understanding, there were three instances of this need to “take stock” during the four day workshop.  It was a great lesson for me.  There are so many times when the trainer becomes the student still. 




How EmoTrance Works With EFT

1) Simplicity. However simple EFT is, EmoTrance is even simpler. No set ups, no tapping, no psychological analysis. We simply ask where do you feel this in your body, show me. Its only an energy so lets think of it softening and flowing and see if we can release this pressure from the body. It does. And we test till we are all clear. The person gets their insights and understanding after the energy has flowed through and out.

2) Naturalness. being aware of feelings in your body as we respond to life and recall different thoughts, paying attention to them and helping them to release...is the most natural process. you can do it invisbly in the moment as life is happening, to transform the event as opposed to saving it up to go tap on later. It becomes so easy to learn and teach. Its easy and natural for kids.

3) More than a technique. As we start to use ET in our lives, we learn abourt our energy system directly, how it works, how we work. We start to learn about how we as spiritual beings are functioning in the world around us, about energy flow and energy nutrition. As we continue to observe flow, transformation we begin to see that Emotrance is model for the spiritual evolutionary process of life. It becomes a way of life, living with energy flow awareness, connecting with the oceans of energy we are part of and experiencing these energies at a deeply nourishing level. Feeling energy really flowing through us, that we feel so much more alive and joyful. We dont just go to zero, as often we do in EFT...a kind of neutral place, we go to feeling alive, energised, love and joy...about that part of life which was once a problem.

To me, however powerful EFT is, its a technique. EmoTrance goes way beyond the normal scope of EFT.

4) Speed. Someone who works well with ET  can release the energy disturbances so fast, so we can be amazed at how much can be cleared in a session. also, we start to understanding how to use our intention for healing, we can speed up the healing and releasing process even more.

5) Working content free. I know we can use the powerful Tearless Trauma Movie Technique and other clever ways of allowing a person to release a problem without disclosing the contents of those memories. In ET thats inherent in the approach. We just work with the energy system itself, the level that gives rise to the emotions and beliefs which we working with traditionally with EFT. We are working structurally to restore flow in the energy system. So its not an emotional process. Which is also an advantageous way of working for some.

6) Integrates within other therapies. As you dont have to use your hands to do EmoTrance, you can simply guide a person to use their intention, you can do this during other therapies also, increasing the therapeutic effect of your session. Eg, I integrate it into a colonics session, sorting out relationship and stress isuues while theyre on the couch..others integrate it into a reflexlogy session, into reiki, into massage and bodywork,  into counselling an psychotherapy, into coaching, even into EFT !! As its so versatile, it can be use standalone or within other therapies.

7) Why I still use EFT and continue to do so. EmoTrance requires a person to be able to identify the location of energy disturbances in the body, or even outside the body so we can work with them. There are a small % of people who are so disconnected and numb to their feelings that unless we deal with this disconnect first (which we can do elegantly with ET as we work with shields and barriers) we must use another technique for the problem presenting. Also, it may take some time to explore and tune into what the issue is taht we need to release. EFT is good for that as you know. Also, some people want to feel they are using a tangible technique to get the results and find it hard to belive that softening and releasing a sensation in the body is all thats required for a problem to release. But most find it even more accessible and natural and easy.

So I hope you can start to see the many advantages of combining EmoTrance with EFT and also how much further you can go in your own learning with ET by its nature and design.


Helping Animals Heal With EmoTrance

Until I learned EmoTrance, I didn't have an easy yet powerful technique to teach people that allowed them to transform the emotions that can lead to making their animals more stressed and anxious.

Read on to find out how EmoTrance has helped Susan with her work with both animals & humans.

My dog, Petunia, just like many other dogs, is not a happy camper during thunderstorms. Through massage and energy work, I've been able to help alleviate her anxieties and fears so that most storms no longer bother her. But, the other night, we had a very strong thunderstorm with high winds and heavy rain where the thunder sounded like it was right over our house. Though Petunia wasn't shaking and acting as nervous as she used to, she was getting anxious. So, I decided to employ EmoTrance to help her relax. As I advise my clients, I first ensured I was calm and relaxed and then I worked with Petunia. Even though the storm was still raging outside, within minutes Petunia was calm, relaxed, and ready to fall asleep.

I have been in practice for over 6 years and routinely work with anxious animals, some of which are picking up on the anxiety, stress, anger, and fear of their Guardians. Whenever I teach a massage workshop, I always tell the people to only massage their companions if they, themselves, are calm and relaxed first. Brave fronts that fool people don't fool animals, anyone who works with horses can attest to that. Until I learned EmoTrance, I didn't have an easy yet powerful technique to teach people that allowed them to transform the emotions that can lead to making their animals more stressed and anxious.

Now, when I work with an animal exhibiting stress and anxiety, I also work with their humans. Through learning the basic EmoTrance technique and applying it in situations where they and/or their animal companion are stressed, they can alleviate the situation and help to keep their companion anxiety-free, thus ending the cycle of the person getting stressed because their animal is stressed which causes the animal to be more stressed, etc., or vice versa. Just imagine how wonderful life would be if your animal companion was able to remain relaxed during stressful situations such as during veterinary exams – I know your Veterinarian would be overjoyed.

Since learning EmoTrance, I've been incorporating this powerful energy modality into healing sessions with animals and including the Guardians. I have received great feedback from many of these people telling me how their animals have improved and what a wonderful feeling to know they have been able to help in the healing process. Some of the issues I have worked with so far with EmoTrance and have seen improvement include separation anxiety, thunder-phobia, aggression towards men, and fear of strangers, though the list doesn't end there.

With EmoTrance, you can set up a healing partnership with your animal companions. Transform the fears, anxieties, anger, or stress from yourself first and then help your companions do the same. Animals enjoy helping people heal and it comes naturally to them, so now you can make it a two way street. The end result is not only a much healthier and happier you but also a much healthier and happier animal.

In my clinic home I use the method Quantum healing for treatments.

Since 2005 I worked a lot with EmoTrance and every day I am learning many things about energy.

My belief is that the universe is a hologram and in the Quantumfield is all the information I would need.

I had a patient with an operation in a hospital on her right elbow. She came to me 2 months after the operation in my clinic home with pain at her elbow.

I decided to work with the Quantumfield and the two finger point system. First I prepared myself for the treatment: I am one with the quantum field. I let this energy soften and flow through my body. I looked at her body and my intention goes to a point near the right breastbone. The second point was over her head. I jumped in her energy field and my intention goes in the connection between the two points. I came in the state of not thinking. The energy begins to run in her body seems like big waves. I saw a picture of her arm. It was now flowing over her head in the body. Then I got the impulse to use the time line. I was counting backwards from her 30 years to 0. In some ages I felt big waves and pictures that were running quickly through my head about her childhood. Some emotions of loneliness were running through her body and she let it soften and flow. After that I changed the position of my fingers. One goes to navel and the other to the lower back. An Angel was coming. A strong energy was flowing through the body with the quality of relaxing. This energy regenerated her liver. Then I took one finger to the heart and one to the navel and she felt a big sense of relaxation and I saw the body was filled with a golden energy. This treatment needs only 10 minutes.

After this treatment the patient felt no pain. The pain was disappeared and she felt clear and strong.

EmoTrance helps me so much to handle energy. Energy can flow very quickly through the field and the body. If they don’t flow I know what to do. I use EmoTrance.

This neatly feeds us and as a side effect we leave the washing and upkeep of the chandelier to someone else.
   
Emotrance is the next step in the evolution of the meridian therapies and the concept was devised and developed by author, artist and NLP expert Silvia Hartman.

It is possible to use Emotrance on your own or you might prefer to first work with an Emotrance Practitioner to address matters that are important to you.

For example, you might have been working on a creative project for some time. You are told you have to a meeting with one of the funders and your stomach drops as you dislike her because she is too (tall/short/fat/thin/old/young/spoilt/sloppy/distant/interfering/dynamic/feeble stupid etc)

Dealing with bureaucrats is not your favourite occupation, but you agree to the meeting as you don't seem to have a choice.. The next thing you know the meeting is re-scheduled for tomorrow, rather than next month as agreed.. This adds to your anxiety about meeting the funder as you have less time to psyche yourself up for it.

There are several ways to deal with this, such as resigning, having a whisky at lunchtime, moaning to anyone who will listen, discussing with your therapist about how she reminds you of a teacher who traumatised you when you were 5, or you could Emotrance it.

EmoTrance and Stroke Victim

Julie had a stroke 2 years ago. It affected her down her right side and at the point we connected by telephone, she has made a degree of physical recovery but still had a feeling that her right side was different from the left and aches in the buttock muscles and a build up of frustration and stress about her being so limited now.

Her energy levels only allowed her to take a short walk each day, which had a level of pain associated with walking in her hip, abdomen and groin areas.  In a phone call I offered to help and see what we could do to release some energy and to see if that could help her in anyway. We had no expectation of any particular outcome, just exploring what could be achieved through releasing energy.

I asked first to describe what her physical body felt like. All the right side felt different from the toes up to the back of the neck.  What does it feel like compared to the left side? Its a light feeling, it just feels different. Ok so focus your attention on this feeling down the right side and think of it all becoming softer.

In a few moments Julie said she was hot all over and started to become emotional. The emotional energy was in her chest, so we softened and released this. It went down her body and out through the legs and feet.  Returning to the heat, which had almost subsided, I directed her to think of this all over heat energy softening and flowing. It dissipated.  Now the right side feeling was lighter, almost the same as the left but not quite but she had a big pain in the right buttock, like a heavy grapefruit.   So we softened this energy. Julie became very emotional again as this energy released moving into the thigh, as a heavy ache, and with more softening, down to the feet and eventually leaving from the toes.

She felt lighter but now a pain in the abdominal muscle that stretches through the groin to the thigh, the pain tapering to the knee.  We softened and released this energy, more emotions and the energy released down the leg and out. Julie felt much lighter.  We returned to examine the difference between right and left side again. Now she said the right side seemed smaller than the left and there was a boundary between the right side and left side of her body going the full length of the body. I directed her to put her attention here, to feel the boundary, and to think of it softening.  It did, and the two sides merged.   Julie now felt the right and left side to be balanced, like she was one person again. I suggested she stand up and walk around a few
steps and observe what her body feels like. It was still balanced (incidentally the first time she had felt that way for 2 years), but as she walked forward with the left foot, the stretch in the right groin gave her an ache. We softened and released this energy until she felt physically free and light on both sides and all round her hips and legs.

Julie sent me an email after the session to say how much stronger she felt, how much more energised she felt after the session and how much emotionally light she was.  1 week later ...."Following your session I felt great but totally drained for three days - a natural result I think. My groin has freed up and walking is better. I've taken the opportunity to use EmoTrance three times when people have phoned and they've found it fantastic and so have I. Thank you for re-awakening an interest in me."
